Product: Metallic Brake Pads for Shimano Road and 9100/9110 Brakes

Brand: Hold Fast Cycling

Details: Our Shimano Road Brake Pads come in two awe inspiring compounds, Ceramic and Metallic. These are a direct replacement for Shimano’s brakes that use K or L type pads. These are commonly found on Shimano’s road systems as well as XTR 9100 and flat mount XT. See the list below for a complete list of compatible brakes.

Features:

  • COMPATIBLE WITH A WIDE RANGE OF SHIMANO ROAD BRAKE SYSTEMS: Designed for seamless integration, these brake pads fit SHIMANO models such as M9100 XTR, M9110, XT FLAT MOUNT M8110, R9170, R8070, R7070, BR-4770, BR-RS805, BR-RS505, BR-RS405, BR-RS305, BR-U5000, BR-RX810-F, BR-RX400, BR-R9270, and BR-R8170. Specifically crafted to replace SHIMANO K or L type pads, ensuring versatile compatibility for road cyclists.
  • HARDER METALLIC COMPOUND FOR MAXIMUM STOPPING POWER: Built with a durable sintered compound, these brake pads deliver unmatched stopping power, even under heavy loads or during long descents. Ideal for demanding cyclists, these pads are suitable for bike brakes pads, SHIMANO disc brake pads, MTB brake pads for bike, and bicycle disk brake pads, ensuring consistent performance across terrains and conditions.
  • EXCEPTIONAL DURABILITY FOR LONG-LASTING PERFORMANCE: Metallic pads are engineered for extended lifespan, making them a cost-effective option for frequent riders. Whether you're commuting or tackling trails, these pads stand up to extreme conditions and are compatible with SHIMANO replacement parts, bike brake replacement pads, bike brake parts, bike pads and bicycle brake pads replacement for dependable and long-lasting braking power.
  • OPTIMIZED FOR WET AND MUDDY CONDITIONS: Designed to excel in wet and cold environments, these brake pads ensure reliable performance where other materials may fail. While they take longer to bed in, they offer efficient heat transfer and superior stopping power, making them ideal for riders using MTB pads, disc brakes for bikes, and bicycle disk brake pads in challenging conditions.
  • DEPENDABLE HEAT MANAGEMENT ON LONG DESCENTS: With superior heat transfer capabilities, these metallic brake pads minimize brake fade during intense rides or extended descents. Enjoy responsive and controlled braking, even during high-pressure situations. Perfect for road and trail cyclists using bike brakes pads, disk brakes for bike, and brake pads for bike for a safer and more efficient ride. Packaging may vary.

Compatibility List: These Shimano Road Brake Pads fit the following brakes: M9100 XTR,  M9110, XT Flat Mount M8110 (does not fit M8100, thanks a lot Shimano), R9170, R8070, R7070, BR-4770, BR-RS805, BR-RS505, BR-RS405, BR-RS305, BR-U5000, BR-RX810-F, BR-RX400, BR-R9270, BR-R9270, BR-R8170, RS-505, RS505, RS805. These are replacements for what Shimano calls their K or L type pads.

Ceramic Pads:

  • Softer compound provides better initial bite than metallic.
  • Quiet, no really, they are very quiet.
  • Easy and quick to “bed in.”
  • Less brake fade than resin pads.
  • Not as strong in wet and sloppy conditions, but still provide great initial bite.
  • May not last as long as metallic, but lasts way longer than resin.

Metallic Pads (aka Sintered):

  • Harder compound lacks initial bite, but provides max stopping power under heavy load.
  • Long lasting.
  • Take a longer time to “bed in.”
  • Can be noisy if it’s wet.
  • Good heat transfer and better on long downhills.
  • Good for cold weather, mud and wet conditions.

Don’t be afraid to mix and match your pads either. I often run metallic up front and ceramic in the rear. If you have a lot of long hills your area, we suggest reaching for the Metallic compound. If you braking is quick or you’re in a relatively flat area, we suggest the Ceramic.
